World Language Students Goals
By the end of this school year, Spanish students will be able to:
Students will demonstrate effective reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills.
A. At the end of quarter 1, establish a base line number of words written in a predetermined amount of time and increase the number of words by 10 % each quarter.
B. After listening to a passage in the target language, students will be able to correctly respond to written questions with 80% accuracy.
Students will continue to strive to understand and appreciate other cultures' practices and contributions through relevant cultural activities.
Understand how studying a second language connects to their other school subjects and personal lives.
The Foreign Language Department believes that with professional growth, communication, and a commitment to our students, we can achieve greater continuity, build relationships with students, and create a professional learning environment that supports our students' acquisition of a second language, appreciation for other cultures, and awareness of how studying a second language connects many areas of their lives.
