The Churubusco High School Fine Arts Department recently received a $75,000 grant from Dekko Foundation in support of the "Lights Up!" campaign at Churubusco High School.
The "Lights Up!" campaign was created to raise funding to replace and upgrade the 40-year old stage and house lighting system in the Churubusco High School auditorium with new LED quality lighting fixtures and updated technology, resulting in a state-of-the art facility.
"We are immensely grateful to receive this grant from the Dekko Foundation as this means we have reached our fundraising goal of $195,000 and our project is now fully funded," said Melissa Baughman, Business Manager for the Churubusco High School Fine Arts Department. "We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our community, alumni, and organizations who have contributed funds to the "Lights Up!" campaign in less than a year so that our students can have the best experiences possible while showcasing and developing their talents on the CHS Harold Norman Stage in choir, show choir, band, and theatrical arts."
THANK YOU for believing in our students and in our Fine Arts program! It is our desire to see our students thrive in a positive environment as they learn teamwork, creative problem-solving, dedication, and community. These skills will enhance their love for the arts for many years to come. We cannot wait to get this project started and share this upgraded space with our community!
