Churubusco Jr./Sr. High received 9 awards in this year’s Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition. Alyssa Eby received a gold key. Jillian Wright and Hunter Miller received silver keys. Jackson Fleetwood, Olivia Crail, and Rylee Truex received honorable mentions and Addison Reed received a whopping three gold key medals!
Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity, and talent of our nation’s youth, and provided opportunities for creative teens to be celebrated. The Awards are the largest, longest running, and most prestigious program of its kind. This year, 1694 artworks were entered, and 400 received an Honorable Mention, Silver Key, or Gold Key in recognition of their outstanding creative achievements.
Alyssa Eby and Addison Reed’s Gold Key art work will proceed to National Adjudication in New York City! February 18th is the premiere of the exhibition at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art from 12-5 pm. The exhibit will run from February through April.
