Thespian Troupe #971 recently received word they were selected as a recipient of a Thespian Growth & Excellence Grant worth $800 from Educational Theatre Association. The grant funds can be used for schools to secure tickets for students to attend professional theatrical performances and toward associated travel costs.
"We are excited to have received this grant as our students are eager to have the opportunity to attend professional touring shows and this will definitely help in making this an affordable option for all our students," said Thespian sponsor Melissa Baughman. "When I shared the news of the grant with the students in a recent meeting, they were so excited - they immediately began talking about upcoming shows and cities to visit. However, they became most excited that this grant would now enable all their peers to join us on these fun trips!"
The Thespian Growth & Excellence Fund is designed to help build capacity, enhance school theatre programs, and support theatre teachers and students.
