From Mrs. Hirsch -
FFA & AG Students (l-r): Sadler Earnhart, Jeff Johnson, James Earnhart. Waylon Ladig - not pictured.
For March, I have selected 4 of Miss Perrin’s students who have truly excelled in their crafts. These students represent Miss Perrin and Busco very well. Their accomplishments are the result of their strong work ethic and determination to succeed. Anytime I enter the Ag shop, they are on task, engaged, and helping others. They exemplify what it means to be a well-rounded student; academics goes far beyond our core content classes!
Ag Power - Welders
Waylon Ladig: Waylon is proving to be a remarkable talent in welding, excelling in both 6013 and 7018 electrodes. His precision, control, and understanding of welding techniques set him apart, making him one of the most advanced students in his class. While many are still mastering the basics, Waylon has already refined his skills to a level that showcases his dedication and natural ability. Beyond his own success, Waylon is also a leader in the shop. He willingly steps up to help his classmates, offering guidance and troubleshooting tips to those struggling with their technique. With his talent and work ethic, Waylon is well on his way to a promising future in welding.
Sadler Earnhart: successfully passed her SMAW 6013 Lap Weld on her second attempt! Passing this weld demonstrates her growing skill in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), which is a key process in structural and fabrication work. Sadler is so positive and patient in her learning, and she shows so much support for her classmates. I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next!
FFA (SAE State Finalists)
Jeff Johnson: won the District 3 Proficiency Award in Diversified Ag Production and Diversified Crop Production. Jeff’s SAE (supervised agricultural experience) program is centered around his work at Shady Grove Farms, a diverse operation producing corn, wheat, soybeans, and pigs. His hands-on experience in both crop and livestock management has helped him develop a broad skill set in the agricultural industry.
James Earnhart: James is a shining example of dedication and hard work, balancing his role in his family’s butcher shop while managing their show pig operation. His passion for agriculture and business has not gone unnoticed, as he has advanced as an Indiana State FFA Star Finalist, a testament to his leadership. From ensuring top-quality meat processing to overseeing the breeding, care, and marketing of show pigs, James takes on responsibilities far beyond the average student. His commitment to excellence in both industries highlights his strong work ethic.
Congratulations to: James Earnhart, Sadler Earnhart, Jeff Johnson, and Waylon Ladig!
